Root Canal - Dental pain advice!

Hi all,

I had root canal treatment finished on Weds - sealed but not crowned yet. I went private for this as my NHS dentist advised it was too complex for them to do. When he'd sealed it up he said I may need another dose of antibiotics as all the treatment/filling etc may cause another infection. Well the next day the throbbing started again, just like prior to the treatment. I was booked back in with my NHS dentist to see if they would do the crown and any further treatment as quite frankly I can't afford private treatment going forwards! She prescribed me more antibiotics so I'm on day 4 of antibiotics.

My question is - is this pain going to go away. I'm confused as to what the infection actually is. It's right up high in my gum I can feel tenderness and swelling in my cheek when I press it. I can't see anything internally, no signs of an access or redness etc. Because the root canal has been sealed etc - will I need it all removing? Will the antibiotics clear it? I just want to cry and have done many times. It's throbbing, I feel sick from all the pain killers, it's keeping me awake at night. I am miserable.

Has anyone experienced this AFTER a root canal and then it's all been ok?

I'm due a review on Weds with the private dentist but will be ringing up tomorrow.
