Is this plantar fascitis?

I've recently been getting arch pain in my right foot, only when walking outside, and not in all shoes (though all my shoes are good, support-wise: birkenstocks, Gabor, FitFlop trainers, etc). There's no pain when I'm not moving. It's as if, when walking, the right foot just generally sort of stiffens up?

I'm not sure this is where most people get pain with PF - I've read it's most often heel pain? My pain is literally where the arch is. I do have collapsed arches, which is why I wear shoes with "built in" orthotic systems, such as Birkenstocks.

Just looking for ideas, really! I really don't want to bother the GP as I often get these little niggles and I don't want to waste time...

Mine definitely was heel pain. However pain is pain so you’ve got something wrong. I wear good quality shoe inserts all the time and do lots of stretching which has helped enormously. And never walk barefoot.

Unless it’s agony you don’t need to see your GP, google some exercises and if it’s really sore take anti inflammatory meds so long as you don’t have asthma or stomach issues ( take with food).
