Posting gift from Ireland to UK. Customs?

I want to send a few gifts to a friend, but don't want her to end up paying customs duty on it. Will this happen? Anyone do this often enough to know? Thanks. I am guessing will be a few gifts, maybe up to 100 euro value in total.

Check to see if customs duty is due from Ireland. If it is, either pay the customs yourself (can you do that?) or I would not declare the value as being as high as it actually is. My horrible family (we are NC but anyway) recently sent me a box of my childhood things (no real value to anyone else) but declared them as valued at £250. I had to pay £100 in import duty to get them delivered. 🙄
