Well I do have one or two ideas but there's nothing I'm convinced he would definitely like and appreciate.

Please can you give me some inspiration? What have you got, or will you get your beloved chappie for Christmas?

Many thanks

24" pepper grinder - it's massive, bought it as a bit of a joke but it'll definitely get used in a restaurant 'pepper sir? Madam?' sort of way. https://www.nisbets.co.uk/olympia-salt-and-pepper-mill/gj009
Sushi school experience at Yo! Sushi, with drinks
Dara O'Briain tickets for next year
Fiberglass chopsticks (dishwasher safe) - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08QZBWY82
We do stockings so I need to get some stocking fillers.

Busywithsomething · 11/12/2024 13:00

@DidILeaveTheGasOn thanks very much. Nice choices! I know I'd be happy with them. Keep meaning to look into a cookery lesson- doo-dah. Excellent food for thought ( sorry, couldn't resist the pun).

I got him a baby, born in October, but I'm still milking it 😂

Experience day doing something he loves? Leather bracelet? Favourite book? Aftershave?

Worldgonecrazy · 11/12/2024 13:16

I bought the impossible to buy for’ man in my life six tubs of posh ice cream from Baboo Gelato in Dorset. They deliver nationwide and he never looks in the freezer.

Dazedandconfusedma · 11/12/2024 13:18

I got him a hat, some Barbour wax and food bits for his stocking. So far for his main present I’ve got him tickets to Inside No 9 the live show, but I need more ideas so following this thread with interest!!

ps he always says he’d be most happy with sexual favours…

Sanch1 · 11/12/2024 13:18

Deep fat fryer (small one)
Meat thermometer
A quiz book for very intelligent people (bit of a piss take)
A lego postcard of Japan

We have a budget of £50 ish which I've pushed to £70 as I saw the lego after!

mumonthehill · 11/12/2024 13:19

A charcoal bbq as he no longer likes the gas one, some tech I have no idea about but he chose, a new nice jumper, a life jacket (niche I know!) posh chocolate. Oh and some clairns bits.

Andrasa · 11/12/2024 13:46

New iPhone and AirPods, big gifts but mostly since he’s been using his spare cash on getting house things done so he deserves it.

couple Lego sets, one is a set I saw someone make and post instructions for online so have been ordering from people round the world to get all the bits for! He’d better appreciate it.

armchair general book.

few bits of merch from a game he plays.

need to buy some silly sock bits for him still but that’s the big stuff.

Imicola · 11/12/2024 13:52

A magazine subscription, some of his favourite socks, a rubik's cube but in a different shape, and DD and I will make him some flavoured nuts.

AdoraBell · 11/12/2024 13:56

Rugby shirt that he likes
Posh socks, Ralph Lauren bought on offer
Handkerchiefs

i know that one DD has bought him leather gloves and her sibling is looking for an Oodie, or similar , for him.

That's a great idea- frozen food. He doesn't go out there often and I could hide it down at the bottom just in case. Many thanks

I wanted to do a sushi/Japanese cooking lesson at a local restaurant but that will now be a birthday present.

2 board games
some Kiehls face stuff
pyjamas
socks (he asked for these!)
book he wanted
switch game.
spice/ hot sauce gift set

We used to do tickets (Eurostar/theatre/comedy) but we’ve got two kids under 3 now and minimal childcare so I do find it a lot trickier now to get things he’ll like.

JumpstartMondays · 11/12/2024 14:12

Novelty olive picks, a bottle of gin and a bottle of aftershave (his current one is about to run out). Socks, pants, and novelty shape pasta (kids choice). Stocking always has chilli sauce and choc coins in.

Feels a really uninspiring year for gifts this year

YouCanLetItGo · 11/12/2024 14:24

A bottle of fancy rum he mentioned wanting to try. Not a particularly huge drinker but I know he will love it!

Obligatory Toblerone

Wanted a Vans beanie in navy but I am struggling to find one!

DH has a Lego C3PO and a Man City retro shirt from the year he was born. He also has a new dressing gown and tickets to a comedian

thenewaveragebear1983 · 11/12/2024 14:50

I got mine some Oddball boxers (star trek design) he will love them and they make a contribution to testocular cancer research. Also a games controller, watch, book, posh marshmallows for The Happy Mallow and a few other bits.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 11/12/2024 15:22

@Busywithsomething

here

Papyrophile · 11/12/2024 15:27

Very niche indeed but I bought mine a replacement for a watch he once loved and swapped with DS in a rash moment. I even found a better version in cash converters that was nearly brand new.

Modestandatinybitsexy · 11/12/2024 17:43

I've bought mine a Barbour beanie, a calendar puzzle (you have to figure out how to make it say the date every day) a novelty parenting book and some marzipan fruits.

Only had £50 to spend so I'm worried it doesn't look enough!
