This is not a new idea but I'll go first Grin

Best- Christmas when I was a kid, nothing beats waking up and running down the stairs to see what Santa had bought us. None of the stress and all of the chocolate!

Worst- ex-MIL came over, was rude about the house, gave some awful presents, demanded a three course meal be done in 45 minutes so she could go back home to get back to the dog. It was perplexing as she was usually lovely but seemed to have left her manners behind that day!

Best. Flying off to the sun and being on a beach XmasDay with the kids.
Worst. It’s a toss up between being 7 and playing more with the gift that an aunt gave me than the one my parents gave me. My mother became very passive aggressive angry. And drunk ex husband who passed out in the very expensive holiday cottage I’d rented for us. Middle of nowhere so I sat twiddling my thumbs for hours. It was our last Christmas tho.

My best was when I was very small. We lived in Germany and my DGPs came over for Christmas. I wished for snow and it did on Christmas Eve. My DGF bought me a sled and dragged me out on it for hours most days!

My worst was the year I lost my DF. I felt completely out of it for the whole time.

Best - my childhood ones where amazing

Worst - 8 months pregnant with the flu. Literally couldn't even lift my head I was that fatigued and sick and it came from nowhere, woke up fine and happy and was nearly dead by noon. Ended up going into premature labor and having a critical risk birth and spending weeks in hospital. Not hugely fun.

If your pregnant though its worth getting the flu vaccine, I thought I didn't need it and learned the hard way.

Best Christmases- the ones when I was a kid

Worst Christmas- Christmas Day 2018 when I miscarried my very much wanted Baby

Best - probably when I was a kid or my DC first Christmas. Even though they weren’t excited I was so excited to be a mum.

Worst - it’s between norovirus Christmas where people started puking Christmas Eve / Christmas morning. Or when I had a MMC should have been announcing our pregnancy to family and instead booked in for a D&C just before.

Best - my first born child’s first Christmas. For me it felt like my first ‘proper’ Christmas. My childhood ones weren’t great, so I was determined my children’s would be better.

Worst - when my father gave me my 1st alcoholic drink at 16, then when the inevitable effects kicked in he yelled at me and slapped me hard across my face.

Best - the ones were everyone understood the difference between bought and brought. Now nobody does except me.

@PerfectStorm00 was that needed? 😂

Best - when children were small, and delighted with a sack bulging with modest presents
Worst- the year when we were small, and Mum had a serious kidney infection, meaning she couldn’t even get out of bed, and Dad did his best with the dinner, but it was a really miserable time
