what's essential in your weekly/monthly shop?

I'm doing a online big shop from tesco, and i'm just wondering, cause i think i have everything but in the back of my head is telling me thats something missing😂 and with your answer can remind me of stuff to add

It's always the most essential stuff that I miss because in a kind of reverse psychology I just assume bin bags and coffee are already there.

Then there's the fake everlasting groceries as well. Salt and pepper fall into this category as do other spices and condiments. A sprinkle here, a few drops there and then there's no paprika or soy sauce.

Do you usually shop there? I just run through my usuals or last order on the app and it picks up most thing. The thing we most commonly miss is orange squash as its only bought every few weeks.

Our staples every week is 100 cigarettes, 12 pints milk. 12 eggs, 3 bags of ice, 2 jars of coffee, bag Demerara sugar, 5 protein yogurts.

Am I weird to be wondering from @Doggymummar's list how you get through 3 bags of rice in one week? That's a lorra lorra rice.

It's ice, not rice. But weirdly, she forgot the vodka.

My other half is Autistic and Arfid he drinks unbelievable amounts of sugary coffee, smokes too much and has battered chicken in some form every night. Sometimes home made hence the eggs and milk, for the batter. The ice is for the multiple cans of coke he drinks after 5pm cos of the caffeine (facepalm).

Vodka comes from Amazon, same as loo roll and all the other toiletries and cleaning stuff !

Interesting! Most of the items on your lists are things I keep buying because I can't remember if I have any...despite having loads already at home. My cupboards are full of binbags, hand wash, cleaning cloths and bags of sugar. I have a weird mental block about these things!!

Yes every supermarket delivers them. Ocado is 5.25 cheaper than every other supermarket hence I use Ocado as the rest of the shop isn't very much and is why my shopping is cheaper than the same basket at Tesco every week.

I recently discovered the shopping list on Alexa, & it has been revolutionary.

Even the DC now add stuff to Alexa rather than whining about being out of XYZ

OP- I always keep a list, so if I open something new (jar mustard, apple sauce, mint sauce) I add it to my list to have as a spare in the cupboard.

I use fresh milk, but always have a few UHF incase
