Is it okay to apply for multiple job openings at same company?

Apologies for the stupid question as I genuinely don’t know the etiquette for this, would really appreciate if anyone who works in corporate environment could help.
Is it acceptable to apply for multiple jobs at same company? Will it hurt my chances to apply for another opening after being decline previously? Is there any difference depending on if it’s private or public sector?

I applied for a junior role at one company (private sector, global financial services company), I met most (around 90% of job ad criteria) and got to final stage interview but ultimately didn’t get offered the job. This was almost a year ago now, and a few months ago I saw another job posting with this same company. Ironically even more junior role than the one I got to final interview stage with but I still didn’t get first stage shortlisted after CV / online application.

Now, I’ve recently seen another junior role opening at this same company that I would be really keen to do and I seem to meet 90% of the job criteria as well as working in same industry. Is it acceptable for me to keep applying to job openings at this company? I would be really keen to work for them but I’m not sure if this is breaking corporate etiquette

Similarly another company I have previously applied for two junior roles (public sector financial services) which I was declined first stage by both but I still occasionally see more job openings which I meet criteria for but not sure if I’m wasting my time applying

It's perfectly OK. Try to customise each application to the precise job being advertised, though.

We get this a lot where I work. It’s only a problem if there’s no overlap between the jobs you’ve applied for, which doesn’t seem to be the case here.

Fine in a huge company, yes!

Totally fine, as long as it's not at the same time. In fact, it just bolsters your point when you are telling them how keen you are to work for the company, which most people just bullshit. You can prove it 🤣

Yes, totally fine, in fact if the company is one you want to work for, if you're unsuccessful this time, send a message thanking them for their time and expressing an interest in future roles. I once interviewed someone for a job at a firm they were keen to work for but they weren't right for my team. They got a job in a different team, same firm after about 4 interviews for other roles. If you got to final interviews you've obviously got qualities they want, good luck!

Yes! Absolutely fine, you can even simultaneously apply for multiple openings with same company. If you get interviewed and don’t get offered the job, you know you can ask for feedback? This might result in tips on how to do better at interview stage the next opportunity you get.
