DH WFH - Driving me mad (Lighthearted)

I work full time from home, I love it, would struggle to go back in the office, perfectly happy to sit by myself and work all day and not talk to anyone 😬

DH is WFH this afternoon and my word, Im glad its rare occurrence, things he has done:

  • Types so aggressively he slopped my tea all over the table
  • Refuses to use a note book or (god forbid) type the notes on his PC so the table is scattered with pieces of torn envelope, junk mail etc with random notes written on.
  • Made lots of loud shouty phone calls which he needs to stand up for.
  • Asked me how to copy and paste
  • Took a photo of the laptop screen, when I asked what he was doing he said it was so he could WhatsApp the picture to the customer?!

Does anyone manage to regularly WFH with their DP and not be driven round the bend?

No. It's why I had a garden office built so that when I was working I'd be safely in my own space.

WhereIsMyLight · 09/12/2024 16:18

He asked you how to copy and paste?!

Even during lockdown, we had our own spaces to work at so we could both work how we wish to work without irritating the other one.

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 09/12/2024 16:18

Yes, but we work in different rooms.

Dp is super loud, I mean really really loud. So much so I have made an office for myself in the shed so I'm not subjected to his loudness. Thankfully I work most of the time at the office and not at home so I'm not subjected to it. He also often does calls without headphones on because he doesn't like them but then his loudness reverberates around the house.

I and 2 adult dcs are in the office most days - but if we ever have a day off, we have to ask dp to work in the shed otherwise it's like trying to relax with Foghorn Leghorn around

Lottapianos · 09/12/2024 16:21

I would have murdered him for the aggressive typing alone!

We work in separate rooms at home about 3 days a week and my DP still drives me demented. Walking around the house singing FFS! 😡 It's utter bliss when he's in the office

TrippTover · 09/12/2024 16:24

Yes but DH has the garden office and I have the house. If he comes up to use the loo or make lunch or a cup of tea, that pisses me off. How dare he quite honestly.

Tryingtomakeitthroughtheweek · 09/12/2024 16:25

He runs a team of people and now I think of it, I think he's asked me before 😂

He sounds like some of our SLT - we call them the well paid dinosaurs 😂

Definitely sounds exciting to ship him back off to the office!

Why are they so LOUD on calls? Also the hee hawing with laughter as if the colleagues are the funniest people to have ever existed. It's when you're upstairs and can still hear the hee hawing, plus being expected to be quiet because of the calls.

I'd rather he was at home than commuting due to the cost and time aspect but WHY the need to be so loud on the bloody phone. I end up wanting to shove the headset somewhere
