Knoops do some nice options or whatever chocolate you like, grated

I've got the velvetiser advent calendar. I really liked the pecan cinnamon one. I also like using a Galaxy ripple to make one.

We chop up actual chocolate, it sometimes needs two birls in the Velvetiser if it hasn’t been done finely. Also this is phenomenal — super thick and not too sweet. I found the Hotel Chocolat stuff a bit disappointing for the ££

I use Whittard- much cheaper than HC. Lots of lovely flavours, I particularly like the hazelnut, mint and orange.

I love the salted caramel one and chocolate gateau

Charbbonel et Walker?

Callebaut do a grated chocolate for hot milk, however it’s a pain to get hold of as it always seems to be out of stock.

So now I buy a large bag of the Callebaut chocolate caillets I like (54%) and grind a large portion up in the food processor. Use a couple of tablespoons in the velvetiser with a little pinch of salt. Tastes amazing. Store in an airtight container.

M&S chocolate flakes. Delicious!

SharpOpalNewt · 09/12/2024 09:26

We use the Hotel Chocolat 70% flakes

Another one for using real chocolate!

Favourite one for us is little kinder bars
Caramilk
Wispa

Just grate them up and sprinkle in - beautiful and 10% of the price of the sachets!

Thanks all!

The festive range are all good - my favourite is clementine with salted caramel. The pumpkin spice one is great too (although a bit out of season!).
