Just phoned to start a claim about storm damage……our chimney cowl from our 1870s chimney pot smashed to the ground this morning…..not sure if flashing is damaged too…can’t really see…..rang insurance…..they answered in less than 5 mins….they checked for wind speed on a database by putting in our postcode ( wind speed has to be over 55mph) ….they confirmed it was 63 mph …..they allocated a case handler…..passed me onto said handler….who gave me his works mobile number and email contact…..then followed up with an email advising the name of surveyors who will contact me…….withing 15 mins, I had an email from the surveyor…..30 mins later a telephone call to arrange a visit next week……I am actually in shock by the efficiency……anyone else got any insurance stories from today?
