UC - if dh earns over the AET himself does that mean I have no work commitments?

I’m confused about the AET - can one half of a couple meet the AET and then the other has no work commitments or do you have to meet half of the AET each ?

As its joint it's just the earning have to be over 1400 or whatever it is. So either you or him. We are a joint claim but because my daughter is classed as disabled we only need to get the single earnings as I've no work commitments as her carer.

Thankyou that’s really helpful . Sounds like a similar situation but we are waiting for a dla decision and the wait is currently months for new claims so I wasn’t sure what would happen till that’s sorted out
