Just got Government alert on iPhone

Just got a government alert on my phone but my phone was making such a noise I swiped up to gain access to reduce volume but the message then disappeared.

I saw it was related to the weather warning but could read anything else as I was in panic mode trying to hush the phone. It was so loud!

Did anyone catch a screen shot?

No but I read it, just basically you're in a red alert area so batten down the hatches. Don't go out and don't leave things loose outside and shit might occur etc. Sorry bit vague but it really wasn't anything I felt I didn't know.

The noise freaked me out, I was cooking and thought the noise was being emitted by the hob 😫

I thought it might have been more common knowledge but I guess now the gov have this way of contacting us all, they'll use it.
I did weigh some things down in the garden earlier... just in case...

It threw me too! So noisy! If I was driving it would have been dangerous!

I thought I'd clicked on something dodgy and let Putin into my phone at first!

My DD doesn’t like loud noises and she ran down the stairs freaking out that her phone was making a weird loud noise!

Now seeing posts on local Facebook groups of people saying the pub they were in went a bit bonkers when everyone's phone went into high alert mode 🚨 😂😂😂

I was on the loo and whoa it's a wonder I didn't have a heart attack !!

Bit off topic but we had a storm around these parts about two years ago and the statue of Our Lady got struck by lightning and was beheaded. See link for pics.

It was all a bit portent of doom. But she's been repaired/replaced now and we're all still here. She smiles down on us again.

It makes more sense if you live in a deeply Catholic with pagan undertones type environnent.

So I received the alert but looking on the met office website my area still says amber alert , so not sure if it was meant for me! Anyone else?

It's done for big areas so for instance the county here is Bath and north east Somerset - but the real problem area looks around the Bristol Channel if you check online - areas like Portishead - in Bath itself we are just on the Amber bit still

I was also cooking and my phone was in a different room, I thought I had set off the carbon monoxide alarm, I was running around the house looking to see where the alarm was going off, until I picked up my phone 😂🤣

The message did remind me to get out our torches and charge devices in case we have a power cut. We're a bit rural here but it's possible wherever you are. I've put LED tea lights in DCs room and charged up the head torches and power banks.

Just received another alert. At 4.30am!!! Scared the living daylights out of me. Was fast asleep. Not anymore 😡 Surely that was an error. It said nothing different to the one I got at 7am
