How to watch Netflix/iplayer on a non smart tv

We have finally got rid of sky and we are just going to use Netflix and the iplayer/itv apps etc, it turns out our bedroom tv is not a smart tv.

Is there any way I can get the apps on there without buying a subscription to something or do I need a new tv.

You can get an Apple TV which despite its name isn't a tv, it's a box you plug in to a tv for steaming.

An amazon firestick would work too

Get a firestick and go on YouTube for jailbreak instructions.
you won’t need a subscription for anything

As long as your TV has an hdmi port, you can plug things like the above into it.

You need something that has the apps on it. My TV isn't a smart TV but I watch all my streaming sevices via Roku stick. You could also use a firestick, apple tv, PS4/5, xbox 360/one etc

Chrome cast and use your phone would work
