When did you have sex after C section?

I had a C section 4 weeks ago and my bleeding has just about stopped now. I did have an infection of the womb lining at 10 days PP which I got antibiotics for a week for.

I know the advice used to be 6 weeks but I was told in hospital that there is no longer a suggested time to wait, just when you feel ready. I would like to but I am apprehensive about the risk of any further infection? Recovery is otherwise straightforward and I have been doing normal activities like walking, shopping etc

I’ll be honest probably after a week or two. When you feel comfortable is fine. I never understand “being signed off” at the 6 week check because I was never checked - just the babies. I do understand that at 6 weeks the wound in your uterus from the placenta detaching should be healed.

Were you still bleeding when you did? I am but it’s stopping/very light

We waited a couple of months.

I would strongly advise against not waiting the minimum six weeks. The risks by far outweigh the reward, imo. You REALLY don’t want to get an infection.

I didn’t bleed much after my CS. So I might have been spotting but not much.
