Amazon delivered - driver didn't even get out of van - advice?

Hello, has anyone had a similar issue with this. I ordered items via Amazon on prime for delivery today (when I was home). I've just seen my notification say parcels were delivered - I looked out and saw the Amazon van outside, he rooted around the back - we opened the front door to let him know were were definitely there and watched him drive off. Amazon can't do anything until Friday and then I need to phone them!

I did check the bins outside just in case, but nothing. There was people in downstairs and upstairs and the driver definitely didn't knock.

Has anyone had this and their parcel turn up later that day? or was it lost cause :(

Thanks

I've had it turn up the next day. He probably couldn't find it in the van and was running out of time. Hopefully you get it soon.

Definitely this. I try to have some leniency with deliveries at this time of year, the poor buggers are working so hard.

I do have leniency, I'm just concerned that it says delivered and handed to me.

In that case report an issue to Amazon. It's easy to do.

I don't mind it coming late (as everything seems to this time of year)...just the fact I apparently have it in my possession.

And the fact I'm out the next 4 days hence it was ordered on prime for today.

Report it. If the tracking states it was handed to you but it wasn't then it's untrue isn't it?

In the past when this has happened it’s updated to say delayed and then eventually arrived.

It could be with a neighbour though. Last week they dumped another houses delivery on my doorstep without even knocking.

helpfulperson · 04/12/2024 11:23

Yes I have. I messaged them immediately and they asked if i would wait until tomorrow for them to send out a replacement. I said yes and it turned up that evening

Do you have a safe space noted? I’ve found deliveries in my back garden or tucked away behind the bin or plant pots many times.

mondaytosunday · 04/12/2024 12:26

No photo as proof it was delivered? I've tracked down parcels this way.
The fact it says delivered is an issue - otherwise I would have said the fact an Amazon van was there and you were expecting a delivery doesn't mean it was in that van - I've received things from Amazon at different times the same day.
Hope it gets sorted!

I had this happen and it came the next day. I suspect it had been left in the depot and they fib and say it’s been delivered so they don’t miss a target???
