Morrisons, so much stuff out of stock

What's going on with Morrisons? Trying to do my weekly online shop and literally can't as so much stuff is out of stock. Each time I try and check out it says around a third of my trolley is out of stock. Change the items and try again and still loads are out of stock. I've given up trying to place an order.
Anyone got any idea what's going ok?
Has Tesco got stock problems also?

I had my weekly Tesco order delivered today. Nothing missing, no substitutions

Jellycoconut · 02/12/2024 23:36

Ok might try a Tesco shop, thanks

Morrisons is not normally like this at all, they've clearly got some kind of issue

Sainsburys was out of decent premium hot chocolate 😔

I had the same with Morrisons over the past couple of weeks, very annoying.

My local Morrisons has been awful for stock for months so we have pretty much stopped shopping there. I nipped in at the weekend and entire fridges were empty, no/very little veg.

Morrisons was hit by a Blue Yonder ransomware attack last week, which has affected their warehouse stock management system

username358 · 03/12/2024 00:18

I haven't noticed this or at least it hasn't effected me. Morrisons is the supermarket I use and I'm expecting a big shop tomorrow and nothing was out of stock.

Blue Yonder, which specialises in demand forecasting and replenishment, automated ordering, as well as warehouse and transportation software, admitted to The Grocer that “ransomware has been detected, which is currently impacting our private cloud”.

Customers include Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose, as well as 30 consumer goods suppliers including AB InBev, Carlsberg, Diageo, Dole, Philip Morris and Kimberly-Clark.

Yeah I saw about the ransom ware attack in the news, it was around a week ago, I thought they might have sorted the stock issues by now? Clearly not though.
It's so annoying that they don't show out of stock items until you go to check out so you have to edit your basket and try again ..and again....

I guess it depends on whether the third party has resolved/repaired the cyber attack or not. I believe Sainsbury’s went old school and returned to their previous method to get the stock back up so it looks like Morrisons didn't. Maybe they've used Blue Yonder too long to return to a previous method but I suspect that the people who knew the older way are no longer working there so they are kinda screwed until the technology is fixed.
