Help! Christmas shopping in Bristol

I'm in Bristol for a couple of days looking to do some Christmas shopping. I have just walked through Broadmead/Cabot Circus and am really disappointed. The 'christmas market' seems to be mostly a few shit food stalls and I haven't seen any independent shops. Even the M&S is closed! What am I missing? Where is best in the city for a good mix of shops?

Go to Clifton or the Gloucester road. Loads of nice shops up there.

Last time I went to Broadmead it looked like the whole place needed ripping down and starting again it was so depressing.

Just remembered, it's Gloucester road. Not the Gloucester road. My kids constantly give me grief for adding 'the'

Yes. I'm beginning to think a train to Bath is the answer!

The people I've known in Bristol call it 'the' Gloucester Road.
If I was living down there I'd definitely take a wander along it.

Thanks. I think I'll go to Bath tomorrow and then head up there on Wednesday.

Depends what you're looking for, if it's chain/toy/tech/clothes shops head to cribbs causeway. If you want a Christmas Market, Bath has a good reputation.
