What bluetooth portable speakers (c.£200 or less) are good for small gatherings/little parties?

Our bluetooth speaker needs replacing. Would love some recs.

I typically use it when it's just me cooking and I want a dance around. But we're having a gathering over Xmas and we might want to dance!

Do you really need them to be portable if you mostly use them in the kitchen? I have a cd player/ radio that also works as a bluetooth speaker and mp3 player.
It's mostly used for me to play cds on my own in the kitchen, but is also brilliant for other family members to stream stuff to at Christmas.

I have Ultimate Ears Boom which are great.

Wonderboom,🥳 you can get them from Currys etc : they sync up, are waterproof, and basically indestructible.

I’ve got a couple of Bose speakers. A Soundlink revolve and a Soundlink micro. Both excellent but I prefer the revolve for playing music. Have a feeling they have got expensive though, mine is quite old and it was around £200 then.

The JBL Flip 6 was top when I researched mine. I’ve been really happy with it. Well under £200 (usually £129 and always on offer somewhere for more like £89. They will synch up if you have more than one but they sound warm and bass-y, not at all tinny, and go perfectly loud enough to dance round the biggest of kitchens!

Is it loud? My son currently has just a cheap one and has asked for something louder for Xmas.

Another one for UE Megaboom. They are very powerful.

Even if you get another I recommend this one as a garden/bathroom one
The sound is great, it's less than £20 and I've had mine 3 years

Really loud, really robust, good for ages between charges.

I just bought the JBL 6. It was on offer at £89 which I thought was a good deal.
