Cheap & cheerful hotels central London

I am travelling to London next September for a concert . Flying into Stansted airport .

Looking for recommendations on accommodation that is central , good transport links to & from stansted airport & Wembley stadium .

I have a budget of around 500€ .

I have been looking up premier inns and staycity apartments, loads of options but I'm clueless as to which would be the best location to book .

Thanks in advance 🙂

Premier Inn for sure

Where's the concert?

Waterloo/ County Hall
Kings Cross and St Pancras
Southwark
Covent Garden
All good and central locations

Wembley - it's in the OP @fairytailcat

If you're just going to the concert stay in the Wembley area. If you're staying longer, stay more centrally. With that budget you should be able to get a Doubletree by Hilton or Hilton - reliable in my experience. I'd book a bed and breakfast rate.

Coffee needed!

Definitely stay in the Wembley area then

If you are only staying for the concert u would book the Premier inn at Wembley. If you are staying a bit longer I would stay somewhere like Kings Cross/St Pancreas easy to get to from Wembley, but also nice and central.
With your budget most hotels will be in your range, but the big thing is being easy to get back from Wembley so you need to be in the metripolitan or Jubilee lines.

Fizbosshoes · 02/12/2024 07:25

How many nights do you need?
I would stay somewhere near Euston/kings Cross/Farringdon so you have met line to Wembley (direct tube to Wembley) and also met/circle or Elizabeth line to Liverpool street where you would get the train to and from Stansted.

If only 1 night, Malmaison in Farringdon is nicer than a premier inn but not outrageously £££

Thanks everyone , very helpful .
2 nights . We arrive early Saturday morning so would love a day in and around central London on that day . Concert on the Sunday

If we stay around Wembley would it be easy to get there from stansted and then commute back into central London for the day ?

Yes! It'll be 2 trains/tubes from Stansted, and 1 to get into central.

I'd definitely pick staying near Wembley - getting the tube after the concert is hell and you'd be queuing for hours if it's a big one 😬

Wembley to Trafalgar Square would be about 45 minutes, allowing for walks at each end if that gives you an idea. That's not bad. The problem with staying at Wembley is presumably that you'll need to go there to drop off your luggage on Saturday and then come back into town: unless you can find a central luggage place.

Thanks everyone .

As convenient as it is would be staying at Wembley I think I would prefer to stay central and make trek back from Wembley .

The plan is to
Sightsee and maybe see a show on the Saturday & go for a nice dinner.
Any recommendations for any of
The above would be also much appreciated!!

Would King's Cross be a good base ?
