Your worst house buying stories

Cheer me up on a Sunday night. We completed on Friday but due to a hold up with the money at the bottom of the chain on Friday our buyers money didn’t come through until 5.10pm. Our solicitor stayed on past 5pm but our seller’s solicitor didn’t; meaning we are effectively homeless for the weekend. Our seller refused to let us move any belongings in until the money was confirmed and the next working day is …. Monday. It’s been a fun weekend with family and our life in a van…..

That happened to us, I was a single parent 3 under 5 the dc thought it was an adventure (I did not) but it all went through and is a distant memory now.
When I next moved I insisted on moving mon-thurs and was made out to be awkward by estate agents (I will never move on a Friday).
Another time we moved and the people selling (was a probabte) didn't empty the house took 5 skips (was even teabags still in the sink). The solicitor said it would cost more to fight then it would to just clear it so I didn't fight it.

Insanity isn’t it. I will never move on a Friday again. The system isn’t fit for purpose.
