Off the top of my head that Heartstopper graphic novel was very popular with teens and apparently is not in any way explicit though it deals with a gay relationship.

DD enjoyed Nevermoor and the sequels (she’s currently 15 and eagerly awaiting the next one!) and Lemony Snicket at that age.

My 11 year old loved Judy Blume - are you there god it's me Margaret, starring sally friedman as herself, just as long as we're together - some of the others Deenie, forever are too town up though

I'm reading Greenwild: The World Behind the Door to my child (who's 11) at the minute
