Squishy stress ball burst, liquid in toddlers eye

My kids were playing with one of those big squishy balls, pulling at it and it’s burst. Purple watery liquid (not gel substance, no smell or anything I can discern) has gone all in toddlers (almost 4) face/eyes, literally a face full. (This happened an hour ago, he’s sat next to me now)

I’ve rushed upstairs, jumped in the shower and hosed both eyes out with loads of lukewarm water, obviously he wasn’t impressed but I just kept rinsing for about 5 minutes. Lots of tears too which I’m sure helped expel anything from behind the eye.

After drying off, his eyes look really clear (white living room rug is now bright purple but that’s not the issue at hand) there’s no redness, no itchiness, they aren’t inflamed and he’s happily playing iPads with his sister. Vision seems ok when we’ve tested moving eyes and spotting things in the distance. He says they aren’t blurry too.

Anybody know if there’s anything in particular I should watch out for or if this is something I need to get checked out further?? Or if there’s something more I need to do in this situation? Thanks so much!!
