I have set myself a challenge to get my house clean tidy and organised by 19th of December. That will include:

All washing done , clothes put neatly away. And labeled drawers.
Old/broken toys binned
All kitchen cupboards washed , sorted and organised.
Floors , skirting boards door frames bannisters and walls all wiped down.
All hoovering done.
Organise and label storage cupboards.

I have sorted out this cupboard. And even labeled the shelves. Since im getting to that stage of feel like things are going well.

I'm thinking about removing the wooden shelves. Because I could probably get 2 more of the metal shelves in that way.

I have also sorted all the clothes drawers and labeled them to. But I think I need to get picture labels for ds as he can't read them

Ohhh can I join??
I've had a poorly 8month old and I've managed NOTHING upto now, the jobs are piling up but I'm stuck to the sofa with my little one and 3 others running round making mess 😂
It's literally round the clock with her at the minute, but I definitely need some encouragement for when she's better

Can you ask DS to draw or colour in labels you have drawn? He may then remember what they are?

WickWood · 01/12/2024 16:30

I might join, but I have an 8 week old velcro baby who I can't put down! We've kept on top of the general tidiness but I'd like to do skirting boards/kitchen cupboards etc over the next few weeks.

In fact, I have visitors tomorrow so going to get off my arse and do some tidying... soon!

Glad you started this post- I’m looking for inspiration on how to store and organise things in a small flat! It’s difficult! I guess it’s a case of throwing out stuff and putting other stuff to charity shop!

Been there done that. I'm still there some times 🤣 don't stress over it . Its hard work having children plus a baby who's not well. Hope she's better soon .

Possibly would rather get proper stickers though if I can . If I can't then maybe

19 days is a huge amount of time. I usually do mine top to bottom in 24 hours.

Aww bless I often see people talking about wearing a sling /baby carrier so you can get stuff done . I could never do that though. I doubt very much people will look at your skirting boards . Enjoy your baby 👶

Get a feather duster for the skirting boards so that you don't need to bend

That's ace 👌 I could do that . But i want to do it in a relaxed positive manner. I have a few little diy type bits to do like fix curtain poles. Sort paper work type stuff , have wrapping to do . Have to work round the kids a bit to.

I can likely do it before 19 days to be honest. But there will be days when I don't feel like doing anything at all.

Aww thank you! The skirting boards are definitely just for my benefit, always feel so much better with a clean house!

I only got 2 hours sleep last night. So all i done today was a clothes wash and made tuna pasta for dinner.

Do iron on lables work ? I want to put them in my sheets so we know the sizes.

Last few days i have not done overly much just keeping the, washing ticking over. Tidying the living room daily and kitchen.

I bought my kids and gs little Xmas trees for their rooms. They have decorated them . They were really excited .😅

This weekend I'm hoping to do some wrapping. I want to wipe door frames and skirting down as well . Oh and sort some boxes for dd as shes getting an emergency move. So will be moving pretty soon .

Sorry for boring post of the year
