How to get “nice smell” from Vinted clothes

I bought a jumper from Vinted. My first ever purchase. I have washed it but it still has a smell that somehow reminds me of my granny. Is there any trick to neutralising smells in clothing?

Can you hang it outside?

Yes I could. Would that help do you think? I live in Scotland so everything is a bit damp and cold for outdoor drying just now

Spray it all over with Vanish, then give it another wash?

I think every item I've ever bought from Vinted smells of perfume or fabric conditioner, I feel like the only person that uses neither.

Try washing again and add some white vinegar and some Bicarb.
