Trail cam gift for DH - do they link to iPhones ? Clueless !

Hi everyone, I’ve been wracking my brains about what to get my husband for Christmas and I finally thought of something – a wildlife camera for our back garden.

We live in a very nature rich/rural area and I know he would like to be able to see the creatures that come in to the garden at night!

I know, nothing about Trail cameras, I don’t know much about technology in general… I’m a bit scared of getting it wrong!

Ideally, I want something that sends footage to an iPhone/where video clips can be viewed on an iPhone? Rather than having to take out an SD card or something. Does this even exist?

I just want it to be as easy as possible for him to view any interesting clips that come in!

And another question… They are only activated to start recording when there is movement, are they? Sorry, I’m a bit thick!

Thank you!

Ours has a small screen that you view short video clips that have been motion sensed throughout the night you can set how long you want them to be or photos if you prefer although we never use that. I think some do screen to phones but ours was not very expensive and is a basic model, good enough for hedgehog watch though.🦔

You can get wifi enabled trail cams that you can control from an app on a phone. I'd imagine the battery will run down quickly if you are constantly using it, but with re-chargeable batteries that shouldn't be a problem. Looks like they are around £100

I assume this is for your garden, if so, best check what your wifi connectivity is where you think the camera will go
