Would posting them tomorrow (second class) to arrive early next week be too early?

Arriving any time after Advent Sunday is fine.

This year, Advent Sunday is 1 December.

I'm not sure of the etiquette, however I have always popped mine in the post box on the 1st of December (2nd class) and never had a complaint from any one.

Mine are made, written and stamped ready for posting on Tuesday. I am away until the following Sunday so want them posted as I start my journey.

My mum sent me mine in mid-November! She said she wanted it to go on my mantelpiece. I'm not sure whether she meant that she wanted to get there first in case there wasn't any room on the mantlepiece by the time hers arrived!

She does have early stages dementia though.

Mine (only sending a few but important for people who would be very upset not to receive a christmas letter) are going in postbox tomorrow using second class stamps

caringcarer · 29/11/2024 19:38

Arrive anytime in December is ok.

Fireworknight · 29/11/2024 19:41

I received one a few days ago! Too early.

I do 2 lots.
1 abroad about 25th November so they arrive anywhere between 1st Decemeber and 31st March.
Second lot about 7th December locally

I'll write mine over the weekend and post them early in the week. We live on an island though so can add anything from 3 days to 3 weeks to normal UK postal times.

PullTheBricksDown · 29/11/2024 19:46

I send all mine on the 1st of November. Then people have seven weeks to enjoy them. 😉

ChristmasCheesecake · 29/11/2024 19:47

We received our first one today.

shellyleppard · 29/11/2024 19:49

I think sending early December is fine, though I would send a couple of weeks later myself. Any cards I receive go in a pile to be put up when the tree goes up - the weekend (or maybe 2, depending when it falls) before Christmas. This year the tree will probably go up on the 14/15th.
