When do social services step in when DV and pregnant

Helllo all

I don't know the system
My sister left an abusive partner
She is due now in two weeks
He is due to attend court for assault no dates yet for trial

Who knows what social services tend to do next?
Do they suggest contact at a centre up until the trial ? She plans on breastfeeding so I imagine all that taken into account?

His mother has said it will be 50/50 from birth

I don't think that's even possible?

Have SS spoke to her at all during pregnancy?

Honestly I really wouldn’t worry too much about this in the near future. His mum can say whatever she wants, no court is ever going to grant anything even close to 50/50 for the first probably 18 months nevermind from day 1- ignore her.

They keep saying they will be in touch 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

When do you think they may suggest contact centre?

She would be happy for an hour a week at start but not right away

50/50 could never ever work 😔😔😔

It wouldn't be up to SS, he would need to make an application to the court and the court would decide. For a breastfed baby it would be very minimal contact to start with and, if convicted, it would be supervised as well.

She needs to block his entire family, no contact with his mum, or anyone else.

I would be advising her to keep it to herself as much as possible when she gives birth and register the birth without him also.
