Cough and chestiness after covid

I had covid recently and got over the worst of it around a week ago, but the cough and chestiness isn't shifting, if anything it's a bit worse and I'm starting to feel a bit rough and tired again, with sinuses feeling yuck also.
If you had a similar scenario how long did it take for the chestiness and cough to settle a bit?
I'm getting a bit worried in case it's heading to a chest infection (don't think it is yet).
Is there anything I can do to help shift this? Thanks

Poor you. I didn't have this with covid, but I'd be tempted to arrange a GP appointment in your shoes. If you are feeling worse, that would suggest a new infection. Also maybe try inhaling steam (or with some Vicks if you have some) to see if that soothes your chest a bit.

@Jellycoconut

I tested positive for covid four weeks ago and tested negative within the week.

I am still suffering with a cough, phlegm, a slight snotty nose, and feeling tired as I can not get to sleep without coughing.

I am feeling better every day, I just want a full night's sleep.

I am glad the gastric side of covid cleared up quite quickly as I was frightened to cough 🤧

I think it is just a case of waiting it out, but if you get worse, see a doctor.

Thanks both. I wouldn't say I'm feeling significantly worse but if I do feel further worse I'll see the GP. I suspect as you say it's a case of waiting it out. Fed up with it now

I had covid about 5 weeks ago, I'm all ok now except for a cough that I'm calling the consumption cough. It honestly sounds like I must have consumption, its terrible, makes me go lightheaded when I cough. I think I might fall over.
Wet sounding, and apparently its normal and will go eventually. Fun times.

Sounds like I just need to be patient

Me and dh had a cough for about six weeks afterwards. It was so annoying and dh strained his chest muscles. Vicks helps, or a steroid inhaler if you can get hold of one.
