We are going to Tenerife tonight
Well staying in the airport hotel tonight and flying in the morning.
We are only going for 5 nights and come back Tuesday .
I just feel really anxious as I've dropped my 2 cats off at my dad's.
We don't have any kids yet so these are my babies.
I just feel bad leaving them
My Dad loves them and they will be well looked after
Anyone else ?

I'd be more excited than anxious.
A chance for some winter Sun Enjoy.

This will be me in 2 weeks time. Off to tenerife too. Leaving our indoor cat at home and having someone pop in twice a day. Worried he will be lonely but maybe he will enjoy some peace! Or that's what im telling myself. 2 kids coming with us(15 and 10).

@ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea I have moved around a lot and some will and some won't. It's infuriating. 28 5mg tablets once every 2 years aren't going to lead to addiction! I have actually got them overseas also. Thailand and Australia.

@CeeJay81 I've rang my dad twice since we left them at 1pm
Telling him to remember to give them water
I think he's going to block me soon
He's told me not to ring till I'm home and enjoy myself
Going to tak his advice
Well try

I really am not an anxious person but I get this. To the extent that I wish I wasn’t going. Though I’m absolutely fine once I’m on the way.

Never get anxious about travelling , I travel a lot , but everyone is different.
Not being rude , I don't understand what people get stressed about ?

Norugratsatall · 27/11/2024 18:35

Gosh yes I've found my tribe! Get terribly anxious before a holiday, particularly if flying. We're going to the States tomorrow and I've got a horrible knot in my stomach. Once I'm finally in the air I generally feel a bit better.

Well we have made it to the hotel
Got myself a cocktail
This time tomorrow we will be there and hopefully il enjoy myself ha ha

Yes I hate leaving our dog. I try to still go abroad once a year but dread leaving him. He loves his dog sitters but cries so much when we leave. We have a big holiday booked for next year and I’m anxious already

Fireworknight · 27/11/2024 19:00

Yes, I always get anxious.

ForRealTurtle · 27/11/2024 21:00

@notatinydancer Can I ask are you younger? I used to be like you. Now I get anxious about getting the flight, getting to the accommodation, the accommodation being okay. Once I get there are everything is fine I can relax.

trader21c · 27/11/2024 21:13

yes I am already stressing about a holiday in January. We go there regularly but I’m fretting about missing out on work (I’m freelance) and stressing about the longhaul flight/turbulence/leaving (grown up) DD behind! I even regret that we booked it. Obviously fine once on our way/there. So I totally sympathise and thanks for raising it!

@notatinydancer Lucky you! I think I have had so many tough things happen, that it has made me generally more anxious.

Same destination but for three months .... packing is a bloody nightmare .... counting the days.

Clearinguptheclutter · 27/11/2024 22:06

Yes
two things in particular stress me;
airports, and chances of flight delay chaos (happened to me a few times)

feeding my fussy kids on holiday

Yes , luckily I’ve never had a major problem.

I would spend my holidays just watching planes from my hotel room ha ha
Flight is in 3 hours and looking on time so far -
