how can I help my friend whose long term partner has died ?

She has family with her. What can I do to help ? aside from being there when she needs me emotionally. Her DC are old enough to not need baby sitting.

I’m working (therapist) with a few people who are recently bereaved. Most appreciate friends saying ‘I’m thinking of you’ ‘what do you need?’, and not ‘how are you?’
a space to be really sad, angry, whatever comes up.
perhaps some practical things like bringing over the ubiquitous lasagne?
