Christmas gift for 7 year old boy

Hello - can anyone give me an idea of a gift around £20 ish for a 7 year old boy?

This is for a child currently living in a refuge, so I do not know his preferences or anything else about him.

Maybe a game or play dough set?

Any recommendations would be welcome.

Many thanks!

I think playdoh would be too babyish for a 7 year old. How about a couple of Bunny vs Monkey books, all the 7 year olds I know love these, and they are graphic novel/comic style so are accessible by all reading levels.

@OolongTeaDrinker thank you! My DD is 21 now so I am out of touch with what she had at 7 as it’s so long ago!

I will look those books up thank you ☺️.

I'd like to think a little Lego thing would go down well at his age. There are nice sets under £20.00

Maybe nice pens and a learn how to draw book

Joke Book, a simple game such as Uno

For stocking type filler present things like slime, novelty pen, etc

a Lego set - you can get ones that have 3 different builds with the same bricks

Brilliant thank you - I actually need 2 gifts, both for 7 year old boys so this is very helpful.

I’m happy to spend a bit more to include some stocking fillers as well so there is a bit of variety.

Definitely Lego.
Look for 3 in 1 Creator sets as a previous poster mentioned.
Regards to stocking fillers... Pokémon cards!

My 7 yo nephew is obsessed with gadgets and finding out how things work. Any kind of present which has a motor, or a scientific aspect, would go down well.

Rubik cube, Spirograph, Puzzles,

Compendium of games ( snakes & ladders, draughts, ludo)

A book in a subject he likes - my lad loved the Horrible Histories books at that age.
