What kind of weird Vinted scam is this?

I have just put a pair of used Adidas trainers on Vinted.

I have bought and sold lots of things on there and have never come across this before.

The trainers are up for £55. I was expecting offers lower than that, as is usual but I have just had an offer for £130! They have also sent me three separate messages asking if I will accept this offer. I am ignoring as I am certain this will be some kind of scam and they have no reviews. I have also just accepted an offer for £50.

Has anyone come across this before?

I'd have accepted. You'd be covered by Vinted anyway. Maybe they just really wanted them 😂💁‍♀️ but yes, does seem v odd! Maybe report to Vinted, see what they say? May be a scam?

No way would I accept - this sounds super dodgy.

I'd love the extra money but I once sold an item which the seller was unhappy with (there was nothing wrong with it), she insisted she wanted to keep the item and I give her a refund so I am always hesitant these days. I will report it though.

Off topic but why did you give her a refund and didn’t just pay for the postage so she could send it back?

I did get her to return. No way was she going to have the item AND a refund when there was nothing wrong with it.

Edited

If the seller has downloaded the shipping label it doesn't automatically cancel you have to agree to it don't you?

I've had buyers ask to cancel but because I've downloaded the shipping label immediately after sale (I post same day) they couldn't cancel it without me agreeing. So this may well be a scam but it wouldn't always work. Interesting..
