Do you listen to someone and can’t understand how they aren’t megastars??

I mean I get why megastars happen, they usually have mass popular appeal.

Give me your great overlooked musicians/ groups/ bands.

I’ll start: My Brightest Diamond. Not cool, not poppy but just so skilled, well-arranged and melodic.

Callum Beattie, Scottish singer songwriter ,
Has been around for a while, only just starting to get the recognition he deserves
A really nice talented young man

Chappel Roan is massive in America isn't she?

NovemberMorn · 24/11/2024 19:24

Jack Savoretti, he never gets airplay on the radio.
He is talented and gorgeous, and so many people have never even heard of him.

JetskiSkyJumper · 24/11/2024 19:25

Oh, I've no idea @DaliaDay 😂

TheMotherShipAhoy · 24/11/2024 19:26

Eddie Reader. Not necessarily underrated as has created some beautiful music over a career spanning almost four decades, but I'm always surprised if someone doesn't know her. Not sure she has ever aimed for mega-stardom though, or would necessarily welcome it, so perhaps the point is moot.

Paolo Nutini

Jazmine Sullivan - should be a mega star imo

PeggyMitchellsCameo · 24/11/2024 19:28

Jake Bugg. Huge start to his career but then tailed off. New album is absolutely stunning.

Yirk · 24/11/2024 19:29

I totally agree about Jack Savorretti, liked him since he first appeared.

Lj8893 · 24/11/2024 19:32

Showhawk duo - phenomenal live!

Bonjovispyjamas · 24/11/2024 19:34

My idol Mika. Of course he was huge back in 2007, but seems to have been mostly forgotten about here in the UK since then, never gets played on the radio anymore etc, i just don't get it. But he's actually still been going strong since then and is huge in Europe, especially France and Italy, has made so much more amazing music since Grace Kelly, now has seven albums out, including a film soundtrack, he's amazing 👏 And for the people mentioning Jack Savoretti, he's done two duets with him.

bevelino · 24/11/2024 19:36

Harry Strange, he is brilliant. Check him out on YouTube.

Avalovelace · 24/11/2024 19:36

Shed Seven. But I'm biased cos I'm going to see them on Tuesday.
