Give me one underrated band/singer/ group

Do you listen to someone and can’t understand how they aren’t megastars??

I mean I get why megastars happen, they usually have mass popular appeal.

Give me your great overlooked musicians/ groups/ bands.

I’ll start: My Brightest Diamond. Not cool, not poppy but just so skilled, well-arranged and melodic.

Drugstore. They are amazing.

@piscofrisco I didn’t actually see them until this year in New York. I don’t think they have played the U.K. in a long time now but they do have 3 dates in London in March. Tempted to go again.

Ward Thomas and Haim never seem to get anything like the credit or kudos that they deserve.

The Magic Numbers. They've never truly got the recognition they deserve. Brilliant band, all of them sre so talented.

Bread, for the same reasons.

Richard Walters...I saw him supporting Darren Hayes last year twice. He has a beautiful voice and is a genuinely nice guy.

You've reminded me of Richard Hawley. Brilliant singer songwriter.

Yes 😝 I was just reminded of a scene in Roger, Roger (written by John Sullivan of OFAH) where one of the characters tells her friend that she loves the song “Make it With You”. Friend later tells the man who’s trying to impress her that “a tape of Bread” would be a good gift.

Of course, later on you see the two of them having a supposedly romantic evening watching Jean Boht 😁

May I make a pitch for Chevelle Franklyn please, although slightly biased as I am related to her by marriage!

Keo - very new indie band. They have 6 tracks on Spotify 🎶.

In fact, I have a few niche indie/alt bands that I reckon deserve a listen.

I thought of another tiny indie band that I like too - Pentire are so fun live! Ooh, and Beaux. He's easy on the ears 😊

Oo also try Our Fold. An older band but really good.

I don't know if they are underrated or not (probably not at all), but I can't believe I just learnt about their existence a couple of years ago: "The War on Drugs".
They have become one of my favourite bands. I'm so genuinely happy I found them!
