Is anyone able to suggest how to fix this plant or is it game over and another one has lost their life at my incompetence? The trunk bits look black, I’ve tried watering it (including with plant food), putting it in more light but it looks like it’s slowly drifting off to plant heaven. There also looks like sone sort of weird orange mould growing in the soil?

I'd trim off the dry leaves, repot it in a larger pot with fresh compost, give it a good watering and then leave it. I can't kill the damned things, however much I try...

Virtually impossible to kill yucca plants unless you overwater them and leave to stagnate. Remove as much of the top soil as you can and replace with ordinary free draining garden soil in a slightly larger pot. Leave in a sunny spot.
