Don't want to go to party.

There's a birthday party coming up in two weeks time for a family member of my partner. I don't have any issues with this family member or any of his family. I don't want to go to the party. I just don't feel like going. I am down to attend but I am thinking about saying I am ill and not going. I do have a health condition and noone really isn't going to know if I am genuinely sick or not? What do you guys think? Should I pull a sickie for the party?

It is in 2 weeks, unless this is am ongoing issue i would expect to feel more like going out by then.

Does partner come to your family/friends events? If so i would go.

Assuming you aren't the guest of honour or playing another crucial role, call sick on the day or the night before. It's a party, you won't be standing anyone up. Plus, you're free to change your mind if you want to.

Will your place be costing anyone money? If so, kinder to cancel now: have a hospital check-up or something.
