The production follows the Twist family as they 'embark on a magical adventure to unravel a one-hundred-year-old mystery and rewrite history'.

I was trying to explain Round The Twist to my teen the other night and I couldn't articulatly describe it other than it was just a bit odd but with a cracking theme tune, have you ever, ever felt like this...

"In one episode Pete gets pregnant after urinating on a tree, in another Bronson's genitals are transformed into a propeller after swallowing a rare 'whirling derfish' and a third saw Linda stalked by a possessed scarecrow."

😂😂 I don't remember seeing these storylines but pretty sure they would never be shown on kids TV these days and probably for good reasons!

Ah the 90s, different days!

Cast of 'shocking' nineties kids TV show reunite 23 years later

The cast of a popular children's TV programme look worlds away from their younger selves more than two decades on from their telly debut.

Have you ever, ever felt like this? Have strange things happened, are you going round the twist?

I was technically too old for children's TV by the 90s but my younger sister used to put it on and I watched it anyway because it was hilarious.

NorthWestWoes · 21/11/2024 18:52

Oh I loved that!

i can’t stop saying without my pants without my pants

Allmarbleslost · 21/11/2024 18:55

I hated that programme. The theme tune is now my new ear worm though!

I think I’d have remembered Bronson’s genitals turning into a propeller… maybe they didn’t show that episode in the U.K.

🤣🤣 Same. It's not the kind of thing you'd forget seeing at a young age. Or any age for that matter!

I still sing this to myself when I hear the words "round the twist"

If all the kings horses and kings men
Couldn't put me back together again, I'd say
Rain, rain, go away, come again another day

Ugh ..I'd just got this stupid song out of my head, I hated the programme it was just too weird for me but the theme tune got well and truly lodged.

The Demon Headmaster and Queens Nose .... Now there was some quality children's TV. I wasn't allowed to watch Grange Hill or Byker Grove - far too risque or some such reasoning.

Blimeor · 21/11/2024 20:53

This is amazing. Watched this with my dad. Such a random part of my childhood😆

Without my pants.

Andwhomightyoube · 21/11/2024 20:55

I can't think how many fifty pence pieces I rubbed trying to get a wish to come true 🤦. Love a bit of Byker Grove but looking back PJ Ant getting blinded by the paintball gun with pretty hardcore for it's target audience.

I remember that one. The. Agin I have the lot on DVD. That and Eeriw, Indiana were my absolute favourite kids shows.

Davros · 21/11/2024 23:01

Skeleton in the Dunny anyone?

OP posts:
SeriousFaffing · 21/11/2024 23:48

Yep, this and Eerie Indiana also my favourites.

I remember the demon stalking scarecrow (terrifying!) and the Mer-boy (the boy who always wore gloves) and the flying machine episode with the flying duck costume. Edited to add - Oh, and the weeing one?!

Redflagsabounded · 22/11/2024 19:21

Loved this - watched it with my son. I remember one about boys having 'who can pee highest' competition - I think a water Dryad got involved to help the winner
