Hi all.
My 13 year old is going to begin his Bronze award. Anyone have any ideas please for activities? I was thinking local church? His former primary school?

In all honesty, I know very little about it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is this for volunteering? Big or junior parkrun are worth looking at.

Thank you - that’s helpful. Yes it’s for volunteering.

Scouts accept DofE volunteers with younger groups
Local conservation groups have working parties but might need an adult to go too

My DD couldn’t cope with group stuff but did litter picking for hers.

I was going to suggest cubs or beavers too.

My son and I helped out at the local foodbank. I had to be his responsible adult but they had a cohort of kids who did it all at the same time, a mixture of warehouse sorting and collecting in supermarkets

We found that a lot of the volunteering opportunities were 14+ which didn't help August born DS who was 13 for the whole DofE year. He (we) did 12 hours of litter picking. We mapped the routes with 'map my walk' and took pictures each time and made a GoogleSites website of it to share with his form tutor for sign off. It worked out well because it was very flexible and actually made us go on some nice walks!

Litterpicking and Parkrun are great ones.
