I miss my husband

He works away. Normally for 8 weeks but due to extra time off for our wedding in the summer he's away for 12/13 weeks.

I miss him horribly this week. I think because I'm poorly and not at work/busy.

We do get to speak most days.

But I miss him.

That is all.

Oh that sounds tough, especially when you are recently married. I hope you feel better soon and that it won't be too long until he's back. Sending Flowers

I really feel for you, it’s not easy to be separated for long periods of time. Just look forward to being back together again. And once you are feeling better try to keep busy. It makes time pass.
My husband died a few months ago ( not telling you that to make you feel bad) . We loved being together and even used to say “I missed you today “ if we’d had visitors, so it makes me happy to hear of couples who like to be together and miss each other when they’re apart.
Get well soon.

People keep telling me I'll get to the point where I'm ready for him to be back in work. I don't think I will! When he's home we do lots together, we always have fun and he lightens my load massively!

I hear you @MessyNeate my DH works away and I hate it. No matter how many friends or family you have the loneliness is always there. I feel like half a person and sometimes I resent being on my own. Hugs to you and I hope you feel better quickly, it's a long time he's away from home. Xx

MessyNeate · 18/11/2024 22:35

Thank you @NippyCrab

I usually work 13 hour nights. So from the weekend I'll be busy. I've got lots of plans with friends coming up to keep me busy.

Hopefully once I feel better it'll be easier

Bless you, that sounds so difficult- I hope you feel better soon and those weeks pass by quickly.

It's so lovely to hear of other couples who are at their best when together. I don't know any other couple IRL who are like my DH and I- we hate being apart! Usually people moan about being around their partner, or they prefer alone time. It's lovely but painful, especially in your situation!

Make sure you're looking after yourself- lots of water, vitamins and rest. 💐

It’s really hard isn’t it? My ex used to work away and I hated it. I also hated it when people said “oh the time will fly by!” It doesn’t ime.

get well soon op.

Aw that is difficult op. My dh worked away once for 11 weeks and the day he left I woke up with flu and was so ill with three young kids for over a week. He was working in a timezone opposite from us and on a site he wasn't allowed a phone for 13 hours. So I barely spoke to him and I felt like my stomach was in knots and my heart had been ripped out. I missed him so much, so you have all my sympathy.

How long until he is home?

snoopsnoopy · 18/11/2024 23:13

I understand. Mine doesn't work away but he works 2 jobs (Mon-Thurs office job then Thurs Eve all the way through to Sunday Eve ar our hospitality business). He gets home from his office job at 7ish, we have tea and put dd to bed then it's bedtime for us to. The other job he gets back just before midnight when I've already gone to bed. We don't get to spend any quality time together at all and it kills me. He's self employed and we can't afford for him to really take any holiday days off either. I never wanted life to be like this but it is what it is.

He will be home mid January, just before my birthday so I'm planning a few days away in the sun hopefully! Seems cheaper than uk stays ATM

I'll be working all Christmas but hoping to get out to see him between Christmas and new year if finances allow. Fingers crossed.

Thankfully my DC are teens and I'm not having to take care of tiny children. I just have to make sure they are fed Grin and showered.
