Neom diffuser smells bad. Help!

I have a Neom diffuser and it's lovely, I use Neom's oils or White Company. I use one for about a month then change.

At the start of the day it's lovely but by the afternoon it really stinks coming out.

I have scrubbed the hell out of it with fairy inside and out every time I switch oils, I've been cleaning it thoroughly daily now to try and get the smell away. It smells fine, and like I say starts off fine, but then it smells... funky. I put fresh water and oil in every morning.

Why is this happening, and what can I do please?

What sort of a smell is it?

My diffuser starts to go mouldy after a while and gets a bit of sludgey scum from oil deposits.

I gave it a good clean and used anti bac spray, rinsed, anti mould spray, rinsed, and used a tooth pick to get into all the crevices, and made sure the little white sunken bit at the bottom (not sure what it is or what it is for) was also thoroughly clean.
Once you've done all that, try it with just water for a day and if it's fine then, try again with oil

I tried cleaning it out in all the ways mentioned and using a different brand oil, but the same thing happens. Starts off nice for a few hours then turns manky!

@RedVelvetIcing thank you for this. I called them after seeing your message, wasn't sure if they'd help as I bought it on Amazon nearly a year ago, but they're sending me a free cleaning kit and if that doesn't work they'll replace it.

Mine does this too! I cannot find a way to stop it doing it after a few hours. The smell is awful but the diffuser looks clean (and it should be as I’ve cleaned to so much!), fresh water or distilled water, and water remains. It’s blowing my mind what it could be but so frustrating for the cost of them!

did you ever resolve it?

I’ve just bought the Tuberose, Cedarwood and Ylang Ylang oil and I think it has a weird smell, is that the oil you have?

I only ever use Neom oils in mine but some of them I really don’t like so I tend to stick with firm favourites, Hibernate is really nice as is Perfect Night’s Sleep and the Christmas edition ones.

I’ve just had the Luxe for Christmas and literally the second time I put it on it has an awful smell!!!

im going to try the vinegar cleaning! See if that helps! It’s horrendous!

@Alexinet I called them, they sent me their cleaning kit (free) which did nothing, so they've sent me a new diffuser :)

Oh no- this shouldn't happen! Try the vinegar but otherwise call them.

@RainbowWife do you mind me asking what sort of smell? I walked into my sitting room today and it smelled what I can only describe as sweaty/grubby?! I think it's the diffuser but not 100% sure.

@chocopuffs I can't really describe it, just like a mouldy smell
