New house... how to arrange this room

We have recently moved into our house.
This is the layout downstairs and I'm trying to work out how to furnish it so that we don't create a corridor but I feel its a given due to the 2 doors and no other access. Any ideas I've not thought of?
We have a 3 seater sofa and tv unit but that's it! Need to buy more furniture but for now that's it

Is there enough space to put up a stud wall and create an actual corridor from the front door to the kitchen, so the sitting room is separate?

My friends house is exactly this layout! They have a sofa on the lounge wall that’s against the stairs and another sofa on the wall against the kitchen. It’s absolutely fine. Never occurred to me that it wasn’t. It works and no need to create a corridor at all, especially where you can block the room off to the front door.

I'm not sure i understand.. you have to walk through the door I to the lounge to get to the kitchen so can't block anything off

In theory yes but the room isn't that big so that would leave a very poky room

This is what their house looked like and it was perfectly fine and lovely. Good luck!

My daughter’s house is very similar and they have got a large sofa against the back wall ( stairs) and a smaller one against the kitchen wall. The TV is on a unit in the front corner, between the window and the fireplace. To get to the kitchen you just walk a couple of feet into the lounge and go across the front of the sofa. In reality, it is not a high traffic area during the evenings when they are sat in the lounge.

They eat in the kitchen and their baby has most of her toys in there, with a few stored in the unit under the tv. They are thinking of changing the small sofa for two chairs as it’s better when friends visit not to have two people crammed on a small sofa. They could have the chairs at a slight angle where the small sofa is with a small side table between them or move the tv to the back of the room and group the chairs where the tv currently is and under the window a little.

Her partner wants to be dramatic and mount the tv on the wall above the fire place ( log burner) but my daughter is not too keen. That would however create more floor space for their baby to play.

Crossed post, her room is very similar to Limecookies plan but the tv is not at an angle, the tv is turned slightly on the unit to face into the room.

Very similar to our house although the kitchen is not big enough for a table.

Sofa against the stair wall - bookcase between wall and sofa, dining table and chairs where the fireplace would have been, alcove to the left has a unit with records and a record player, alcove between fireplace and window has another bookcase and a tv unit.

Not huge but works for us!
