Disolvable Stitcrs - how long to disolve?

Got some in my tongue after op, forgot to ask how long they take to disolve. Any ideas anyone?

I recently had some in my nose. I was told they'd take up to 4 weeks to dissolve, after 6 weeks they were still there so I asked for them to be removed manually.

But I'd think that your tongue would be quicker as it's always wet?

It shocked me as well to be honest. But I'm still pretty sure the tongue should be a lot faster (Caveat...I'm not a medical expert)
