Paris or Frankfurt for a concert?

Posting here for traffic.

Looking to get opinions on Frankfurt or Paris for a gig. The band are only doing one UK gig in London (I'm in central Scotland), plus we're away on holiday the day of the London gig.

Looking to go to their Frankfurt or Paris gigs as these dates work for us, but just wanting to see which city is better. Never been to either city.

To be honest; we probably don't want to do too much sightseeing as we will likely fly the morning of the gig and return after one or two nights.

Hopefully we get tickets when they are released lol!

Paris and stay for an extra day. Frankfurt is deathly dull and the airport is dreadful. Its not even a cheap city.

Well of course in a general sense there’s an obvious answer to “which city is better” 🤣. However, I get that you’re asking in practical terms, and on the whole I think Frankfurt is easier to get in and out of, and there are probably cheaper accommodation options.

If you do plan to spend even one minute sightseeing, then Paris.

I would expect Frankfurt to be better organised, with better security, cleaner, and cheaper.
However if you are going to be staying longer and sightseeing, then Paris wins hands down.

One thing you probably didn't think of: Parisians are short. West Germans are average to tall so you might be able to decide based on view ;) If it's metal Germany is probably more fun. Rock is fun in France especially if it's got a political edge. Pop is probably much of a muchness and I know people travelled all across the continent to get Taylor Swift tickets. The cheap concert venue beer is better in Germany.

I would look at reviews for the venues and flight costs then decide from there.

I think due to having annual leave just a couple of weeks before, and being peak summer holidays in Scotland, the chances of getting a few days extra off might be pushing it, so would literally be 2 nights/ 3 days max.

DH open to Paris, for me, it's just the easiest transport options etc.

It's Linkin Park, so Germany could have the edge there lol

Both pretty much the same for reviews and flights are similar in costs so it doesn't help decide lol

Good point @StamppotAndGravy. I barely saw Muse at a standing venue in the Netherlands. (Brabanthallen)

BaronessBomburst · 17/11/2024 15:14

Linkin Park? Definitely Germany!

NorthernSoul55 · 17/11/2024 18:51

We've been listening to a lot of Linkin Park lately - OH says Germany, no question.

LilacLilyBird · 17/11/2024 18:56

I'd say Frankfurt for sure

I know both cities and if you're just going for this event then Frankfurt

ReginaaPhalangee · 17/11/2024 20:12

So looks like Frankfurt then!

Now; to try get tickets lol!
