Getting a super king mattress up the stairs

We need a sprung mattress (rather than a rolled one) but it seems like it will be a struggle to get it up the stairs

Have you managed this despite having a regular staircase??

We've had two - a ziploc one and a rolled one. The zip loc one was much, much easier as two singles. It was a nightmare getting the rolled one up the stairs.

We got a sprung kingsize mattress up the stairs, we had to bend it round the corner but other than that just required a bit of force.
Our staircase is quite steep and narrow.

Ziploc definitely the way

We got ours up but it caused some damage to the plaster work which was fine then because that part hadn't been replastered yet, I dread to think how we would get this one out and a new one in , our ceilings are high too 10ft so the staircase is tall and straight, it was still difficult. DHs uncle helped and he used to be in removals in his youth so knew the best way to do it

I agree. Love our ziploc mattress. Love having my clearly determined side of the bed!

Great news is the guy from the bed shop lives in our village and is calling in his way home to assess it.

He can't make any guarantees though.

We did it with 3 of us and a lot of sweating and swearing. It was worth it though.

ChanelBoucle · 16/11/2024 14:31

We bought a zip n link. Just as well as it’s well over a foot thick!

helpmyback · 16/11/2024 18:52

Guy came and had made a template.

No way will a superking fits think it the higher ceilings and steep stairs so we are going to look for zip and link

If not we will have to get a king size. And I will have to put up with sleeping close to my husband.

Onetimeonly2024 · 16/11/2024 18:54

My zip and link super king mattress is the best thing I've ever spent money on! Can never go back.
