Is it just me but……Grown men who insist on wearing shorts in winter?

Especially the longer shorts that are below the knee. And backward baseball caps. They look like a bloody “Bash Street Kid”.

My DH wears shorts in winter as he gets hot.

But I've never seen him wear a baseball cap though.

coffeesaveslives · 16/11/2024 09:01

DH wears shorts all year round - he works a really physical job and gets really hot.

Not sure he's ever owned a baseball cap though Grin

It makes no difference to your life.
It's none of your business.

Mymanyellow · 16/11/2024 09:02

Think there’s a competition at the post office. Who can wear them in the cold weather the longest.

Princessfluffy · 16/11/2024 09:02

All power to them
I don't like men in bare feet though on pavements.

PuppyTimes · 16/11/2024 09:05

Was there supposed to be a point in your post? Or was it just being mean and judgemental about something which does not negatively affect you or literally anyone else?

EmpressaurusKitty · 16/11/2024 09:05

I’ve seen quite a few men out in shorts recently & yes, it’s confusing!

Also, of course it’s none of anyone’s business but if MN banned posters for that, the forums would get very quiet.

Ha ha, no it doesn’t, most people have opinions on things that don’t matter to them though. Thats why forums like this exist is it not?

RandomMess · 16/11/2024 09:07

DH is always hot, it's not even cold yet this year.

midgetastic · 16/11/2024 09:07

Sadasad · 16/11/2024 09:08

I wear shorts with tights and boots in winter, is that a problem?

That's fine. Maybe your look isn't for them? 😬

Nannyfannybanny · 16/11/2024 09:10

I live in the warmest se UK corner,10 minutes away from the sea. My postie wears shorts all year, I asked him,he said it was easier to dry off a wet leg than wet trousers. There's a lot of people still wearing shorts. 2 days ago we took our dogs to a forest up past Beachy head, and it was mild enough for shorts. No caps though.

I have a friend who is a postman. He says:
1- post office uniform trousers are really uncomfortable
2- it's much easier to dry wet legs than wet trousers
3- he actually gets quite warm with all that walking.

MorettiForMargo · 16/11/2024 09:11

One of my parent’s friends, since early retirement 10+ years ago, has had a “uniform” of;

Short sleeved gingham shirt
Microfleece or padded body warmer zipped up.
Chino shorts

All from Regatta.

Socks and Skechers or socks and velcro sandals.

Wears some variation of this daily, rain, shine or snow. Christmas Eve. The theatre. Funerals.

He’s got an increasing group of “retired men who play golf and have an allotment” friends who have gradually all started to wear this uniform. It’s a sight to behold.

BuzzieLittleBee · 16/11/2024 09:11

What about women wearing skirts? Uncovered legs are not a male-only phenomenon.

Don’t think so, it’s ok to find something looks ridiculous/unattractive/have a pet peeve.

Seriously,"the total ick", grown women feel nauseous at the sight of a man in shorts, are you allowed to wear pearls to the office!

My adult son dresses exactly like this. I hate baseball caps . But he likes it and it does me no harm/none of my business.

DeliciousApples · 16/11/2024 09:12

Oh I had a shorts clad postie this morning! It totally put me off complaining about the bashed parcel he gave me, dented one end with torn cardboard.

Maybe it's a strategy they use to deflect the eye from the damaged parcel 🤨
