Absolute pile of shite.
I assumed - wrongly - that the fact this fight was being put on meant that either a) it would be a highly entertaining but scripted fix or b) Tyson was still capable of putting up a good performance.
Neither was true.
Tyson looked broken and frail. There are plenty of very fit 58 year olds - but Tyson looked old, out of shape, and just not quite with it.
Jake Paul is a truly shit “boxer” and having a victory over Tyson on his record makes him sound half-decent. Which he isn’t.
I remember watching Tyson back in the day. I absolutely detested the man, and he was a savage out of the ring too. He was abused and taken advantage of by many people, but in turn he abused (and raped) others.
So I’m definitely no Tyson cheerleader. But weirdly I did hope to see at least some semblance of the fighter he once was. But his well-documented history of health issues have clearly taken a toll.
This whole “fight” was a joke.
(And I’m still struggling to understand the result from the Taylor fight - based on the stats it seems hard to see how she won. But I did miss the first few rounds so maybe I missed something- judging by the comments though it doesn’t sound like it.)
Shame on Tyson’s family and trainers for encouraging him to get back in the ring.
