Toys for 1st birthday and Christmas

Hi all. My baby is turning 1 just before Christmas so I am looking for ideas for presents. I know he doesn't need them but it's the right excuse to get him some toys for older babies. I have some wooden jigsaws and books and an activity table. I am thinking of something like a scuttlebug or trike? Is he too young for blocks? Any suggestions would be great please. He can take a few steps but mostly cruises

Hey my DD was 1 just before Xmas last year. We purposely didn't buy her anything as, ams as expected, we were overwhelmed with family gifts (only GC on both sides!)
We particularly asked for

  • megablocks - she still adores these
  • shape sorters
She also got teddies, a tea set, books and clothes.

The one thing I didn't ask for and she liked, so I bought later on, is those peg boards with images and you slot them in.

Have a lovely one!

My DD is also 1 just before Xmas and we have asked grandparents for a really nice stocking and a hanging advent calendar (one with pockets on so you can add your own sweets, little presents etc). We figured she won’t really understand or remember any toys she gets now so thought it was a good opportunity to get some really nice keepsakes that will come out year after year

Tor's Story have the best toys! Really great quality, mainly wooden and really reasonably priced. They have gift guides too if you need some inspiration. My one year old loves his cars and busy board. The puppet colour sorting set is fab too. torsstory.com
