First time ever going away for Christmas this year, and I'm looking forward to it but also feeling a little weird !! We're going to the canaries and we have two little ones who I'm very conscious aren't going to have a proper Christmas Day this year.
I was planning on doing Christmas Day a few days before we go, so do a dinner, open presents etc does this seem a good idea ?
I won't be able to take any presents with me as we already have enough to take with the baby gear.

Sounds great! Yes I think your plan is good. I suppose the only issue is if the kids get confused by having two Christmases (as the hotel will no doubt have celebrations on Christmas day) so you might need to think up an explanation for that. But if they are very little that probably won’t be a problem.

When we go away for Christmas, we just tell ours that Santa has left the presents at our house for them to open when they get back home.

They're 10 months and not long turned 2. So I'm not worried about explaining it to them really as they won't have a clue 😆 I think I need some reassurance that doing it a couple of days before is alright really
