Just bastarding Sting to go.
I was positive the girls was Even cowgirls get the blues, because they are and the books are about blues. I think my answer is better.
But Sting-pleeeeeeease people!

What is he dressed as? And what does his guitar neck look like?

inaptonym · 14/11/2024 14:22

@Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride you have one of the words, just two more. Book from last year.

Londonmummy66 · 14/11/2024 14:23

Sting is in the title but what animal gives the sting? Its a 2023 book that won lots of awards.

A Willy?

A Willy?

.......what striped insect is he? And what do they do to you if you try and squash them when they land on you?

BiliousOhGod · 14/11/2024 14:27

That took me way longer than it should have - even with the clues on here! The woman poster one had me stumped, even when putting the right answer in, it didn't feel "right"....

Waiting for the difficult annual work quiz, now... (although I can't remember if it's at Christmas or not!)

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 14/11/2024 14:29

Got it! Aww I’m always a bit sad when it’s over so quick. (Story of my life!) thanks all.

Me too!

chocolatecheesecake · 14/11/2024 14:31

I've got 4 to go

  • I'm pretty sure I know the cocktail but it won't accept my answer
  • red Sherlock
  • Child with giraffe and bird
  • map - its not green dot or dropped pin

any clues?

ApolloandDaphne · 14/11/2024 14:34

Ooh I'm just getting started. I love this game even though i am terrible at it!

InMySpareTime · 14/11/2024 14:35

@chocolatecheesecake what kind of bird has that beak? Google the two animals and book.

Sherlock might model his office decor on the pimpernel

What does the green dot tell you about yourself?

Cocktail is an area that's the cocktail in the glass but with the rapper removed

any clues?

the cocktail doesn't have the drink part - just the location

red sherlock is quite straightforward name of one of the books

child - just describe what animals you see on google and it will be evident (it's not a stork btw)

Map - what does it usually say near the pin on a map?

xlexiix · 14/11/2024 14:37

This panda and the poster are going to be the death of me last 2 and I'm done

Beansandneedles · 14/11/2024 14:41

@chocolatecheesecake if you were in a park or a national trust place standing on a path looking at a fixed map (ie not one you'd carry around with you), what would it say next to the bubble?

MummersMumming · 14/11/2024 13:54

I've managed most of it (with help from this thread and searching keywords on the Waterstones website!) but I'm completely stuck on the box of lights.

Love Waterstones as a helper, but there are loads of "Ice-cream" titles, so I am still stuck on the singers

It's the ice-cream type, but plural - the series.

Dracarys1 · 14/11/2024 14:47

I can't get the dripping table one. I thought milk and honey but it's not working

I’ve read the whole thread but I’m still stumped!

I just have quartet and comedy left now

I got that one by googling up 2024 best selling books.
Actually quite a few titles can be found if you google the same for 2023 too.

The Sting one I found the easiest. Think of the insect and the lead singer from famous 80s pop group. Showing my age here.

Oh my - it was my dad's favourite flavour when I was a kid!
Got the lot now, thanks.

Thanks, I was making that way more complicated than it needed to be! All done!
