Notebooks? It's a secret Santa list and I'm stumped beyond notebooks! They definitely don't send handwritten letter...

Hand made cards, attractive cards, sheets of paper with matching envelopes, some stamps.

laalaaleelee · 13/11/2024 03:37

Nice notebook and pens. Habitat normally has some nice things like that - or Sostrene Grene

Moleskine. Quality isn't as good as it was though.

Posh notebooks, I'd rather have one fabulous notebook than lots of little bits. Museum shops are a good option for something a bit different.

Or there's is a company called Papersmith that does lots but particularly very cool post its which are hard to justify as anything other than a gift.

Lovely notebooks or to do lists!

I always recommend Leaf Lane Studio on here, as it is such a lovely independent business and the quality is great.

Ive ordered for gifts and secret santas before and she packages/wraps them so well!

Pretty notebooks, colourful pens or pencils … I love stationary but it’s hard to buy as a present as I like colourful separators, note cards, paper clips, highlighters, binders and post it’s but they’re not really for gifts!

Nice notebooks and pens.

Oh thank you all some great suggestions I am going off to research. Are paperchase still on the go @autienotnaughty or taken over and only in Tesco now?

I think it is just through Tesco now

VenusClapTrap · 13/11/2024 11:46

Fancy paper clips, post its, highlighters, pen pot, stapler

Pootles34 · 13/11/2024 11:48

Lined envelopes. Thick writing paper.

JustWhatWeDontNeed · 13/11/2024 11:51

For me, it definitely wouldn't mean cards, paper or envelopes. I don't use those.

I love notebooks though. Notebooks and pens. Pretty notebooks, not plain boring ones.

JustinThyme · 13/11/2024 11:56

Nice heavy paper. Lovely smooth action from the pen so it glides across the page.

Set of coloured and shaped post its for marking up cook books or travel books (I love doing that).

Notebooks with a magnetic flap to close them.

A list pad, either sticky like post it’s or with a bulldog clip.

PiggyPigalle · 13/11/2024 12:12

Depends on the budget. Smiths or Smythson?

TooTiredToType77 · 13/11/2024 12:55

I love moleskin notebooks but they are £££ My local TK Maxx nearly always has some so I get from there.

yodaforpresident · 13/11/2024 14:58

Moleskine - a smooth paper to write on and I love the page marker and band to keep it closed - currently using a Harry Potter one in fact. Papier and paperblanks are lovely too.

BrightOrangeDahlias · 13/11/2024 15:05

I picked up these glittery highlighter pens in TK Maxx a few weeks ago. Completely frivolous but make me smile when I'm at work doing boring admin tasks.

To me it makes me think of the coloured writing paper and silver/gold pens that were all the rage when I was a teenager in the 80s.

Stropalotopus83 · 13/11/2024 15:25

Is it a workplace/office secret Santa? If so I'd expect they mean nice stationery bits for their desk - think post it notes/set of nice pens/pretty memo pads etc. basically a nicer, prettier version of stuff you use every day.

CallyCC · 13/11/2024 15:26

I love nice stationery. For me that would be A4 and A5 notebooks, with lines, not too narrow, also A4 folders, pen pot, desk organiser. As a few people have mentioned TK Maxx often have some nice things. I'd also love Muji pens like these: uk.muji.eu/products/coloured-gel-pens-with-cap-pack-of-10-0-38-mm-16331
